C.O Bigelow 1 Hit 1 Miss

You fall in love with a fabulous product. After years and many empty bottles you decide to try out another product from the same line because it has to be good, right? After so much anticipation and build up you finally get to use the new product only to realize the new stuff is shit.

After a long day of running around and even going to a first birthday party I was more the ready to come home for some R&R. Little did I know!

C.O Bigelow Mentha Body Buffer
I had such high expectations for this. I thought this would be a spa in a tube and couldn’t wait to feel minty clean.
If you notice in the picture this bottle looks haggard, that is because the product doesn’t come out of the tube. For some reason the sugar is too thick to get out of the nozzle. This might be a life changing product but it sucks that I will have to cut this tube open to get at it, especially because it is brand new. I’m not sure if anyone would find this frustrating as I did but all I know is I will be sticking to my Biotherm scrub from now on.

Okay let’s finish off with happy memories.

C.O Bigelow Mentha Foot Cream
I have been using this foot cream for years now. I love that this “cream” is more like a gel so it absorbs quickly into the skin without making your feet greasy. The second thing I adore is the tingly feeling it gives. There’s just something about this product that makes you feel so relaxed, fresh and rested. If you work on your feet or just need a really good rest try this out you will not be disappointed.

Let me know what are some of your favorite scrubs or if you’ve has the same problem?
I would love to hear what you think.

Thanks for reading,
Tanya

August Favorites

What a month! This month there has been some huge changes for me. I finally started a new job which I’m very excited about. I made the transition a male dominated industry so blogging to unleash my girly side has never been so significant. I’m excited to share with you my August favorites so without any more rambling here we go.

Chanel Aventure Rouge Coco Shine
Rouge Coco Shines are great lip products and one of my all time favorites. Aventure is a perfect sparkly pink that is natural enough to wear everyday but gives enough color to add interest to the lip area. I have been loving this and am now wondering why I haven’t worn it in long time? Why Tanya why?
MAC Satin Taupe
What a great color and formula! I have had this product in my stash for a couple of months now and recently started using it. I love that Satin Taupe is a great smoky eye shadow while still being appropriate for the office.
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
I go through love phases with this product and right now we are on our second honeymoon. I find Painterly with some Satin Taupe along the crease is an easy-peasy polished eye duo. Even by itself Painterly is a quick way to even out the eyelid area.
Le Metier de Beaute Tamarock
This is a great mid tone brown with outstanding pigmentation. Not only is this great for blending out eye shadow’s but it’s also great to fill in my eyebrows. This tiny product comes with a mirror making portable to travel with. The only thing I hate is that Tamarock is so nice that it makes me want to try out more Le Metier products, which is fun for me but not for my bank account.

Well that pretty much sums up my favorites for the month of August. But with that being said I can’t wait for September because fall is around the corner (my favorite season). Most of all I want to start rocking vampy lip colors, dark red nail polish’s, boots, sweaters, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Halloween candy... ok Tanya keep your cool.
*deep sigh*
Like always ladies big thanks for reading I really appreciate it.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you’ve loved or if you excited for fall as much as I am.

Back to School Makeup Kit

I am positively not a morning person and I never have been. So my goal has always been to use minimal products that are easy to put on, but give an overall refined look.
My school (or work) make up kit only has four products making it quick to put on and easy to travel with.
So keep reading if you want to find out what’s in my kit.
1.       Foundation
I believe if you’re going to spurge on a makeup item foundation should be it. Really take the time in trying different formulas and shades and choice one that perfect for you.

My personal pick is the Super BB by Skin 79. I like that this bb cream it brightens my skin, while looking natural. I also think this is a great product because you can apply it on with your fingers and it offers sun protection.

2.       Blush and Bronzer Duo
There are a numerous companies that make these. For the money elf have a fantastic duo that includes a two great pigmented products. I like that you can add definition to the face and a pop of colour on the cheeks. This sleek compact also very easy to travel with and if you were anything like me your makeup application usually happens 5 min before class.

3.       Mascara
Yes, I love my Essence mascara! But no matter what mascara you choose it’s a product that takes seconds to put on yet really adds definition to the eyes.

4.       Lip Gloss
I think lip gloss is fun and a great product to add some shine or color to the lip area. What I love about lip gloss is how low maintenance it is pop on. There are so many great formulas out there but what I opted for is the Beauty Rush lip gloss in More Mimosa. I like the Beauty Rush line because not only is it inexpensive but it offer’s tons of great shiny shades and great tasting flavours.

You can always add more products, but I think these four products give a quick easy polished look perfect for school or work.
Let me know what some of your favorites products are for rushed mornings?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Sunday Haul

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

This weekend on a non makeup related trip to Wallmart I somehow wondered into the beauty department. Story of my life, right? I ended up with three products and thought I would share them with you.

Wet and Wild Coloricon in Walking on Eggshells

I’ve wanted to try Walking on Eggshells for a while now, but it’s always sold out. Walking on Eggshells is inexpensive and from my swatches is pretty pigmented too. Coloricon pallets have such a cult following online and I can’t wait try out more from the Wet and Wild line.

Baby Lips in Pink Shock

I got drawn in by the packaging! I have a couple of other Baby Lip’s and have been pleased with the formula. What I can say about this product is I am pleasantly surprised about how pigmented it is. In addition, like all Baby Lips this one smells and tastes great. I look forward to wearing this in the upcoming months.

L’oreal Color Riche in Cardinal Plume

I have had this for barley 24 hours so I don’t want to speak to quick but I think I love this. This feels like a lip balm but is more opaque than one.  Right off the bat it reminds me of Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy which is one of my favorite lip products ever. I’m very tempted to try out more of these! I will report back.

Super small haul but I thought I would share.

I really want to try more Wet and Wild products, what do you recommend?

Well thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

My 5 Favorite Summer Fragrances

With summer almost being done I thought I would share with you some summer fragrances I have been wearing this year. Some are new favorites and some are one’s I return to every year.

*Random fact but I absolutely love fragrance. My first job was selling fragrance at a department store and from that day on I was obsessed.
**Another random fact but helpful! To keep your perfume from turning, keep bottles in a dark cool place. I find places that fluctuate in temperature really ruin your fragrances.

So without further distraction these are my top 5 summer favorite fragrances.

Hermes Un Jardin Apres la Mousson
I have this in the “all over body fragrance” which is fancy for body spray. This is described as a fresh spicy scent, which I agree. To me this smells like fresh juicy melon with a little ginger and pepper. This kind of reminds me of a cucumber melon scent but don’t be alarmed the spicy notes make it much more sophisticated. If you’re into melon scents but what something more adult I would give this a go.

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
Eau Tendre is young, soft and flirty. This fragrance is a crowd pleaser and defiantly appeals to a lot of people. To me when first sprayed it smells like fresh grapefruit. The dry down of this really turns into a adult musky-floral scent. This fragrance is perfect for work because it’s soft and very pretty.

Balenciaga L'essence
This has been one of my most worn fragrances this summer. I describe L’essence as an understated beauty that is both warm and cool. The green notes make this fragrance perfect for cool summer nights. The overall effect is something that’s very deferent without feeling overdone. I’ve said before but this might not be a scent for everyone. With that said if you want to smell something different I would check this out.

Feerie Eau de Toilette Van Cleef & Arpels
To me this like opens with a strong scent of berries and dries down to a woodsy fragrance. The woodsy aspect of this perfect for nights and the light fruity notes make this great for summer. I think if you like Chanel Eau Tendre you would really enjoy Ferrie.

Mimosa Pour Moi L`Artisan Parfumeur
This smells like exactly like Mimosa. I would describe this as a simple fragrance done incredibly well. If you have never smelt Mimosa before it kind of smells like floral/citrus that is both sweet and soft. Mimosa Pour Moi also has Violet leaf in it which gives this a great balance between sweet and green. Love this one because it reminds me of being outside during hot summer days.
