July 2013 Monthy Favorites

Is it just me or do your make up favorites reflect the weather?

This month the weather was a bit strange. It started of hot and now it’s ending with almost fall like weather. So basically what I’m saying is my makeup favorites are... well... all over the place.

Dior Lip Glow

This is a cult product and for good reason. It turns into a pretty pink colour on my lips and it feels silky.  I usually carry this product in my purse because it’s really a low maintenance colour and it’s very moisturizing. My only problem with this product is I go through it like crazy because I use to so much.

BECCA Luminous Skin Colour Ultra Sheer Foundation

I mentioned this product last week and I’ve been wearing it like crazy this month. It’s super sheer and very easy to apply. Although this is sheer it makes my skin look healthy and luminous. If you into the natural skin look, hate foundation or are new to the makeup game this might be a product you want to check out.

Chanel Soleil tan de Chanel

How do I explain this product? Sometimes I apply it and hate it sometimes I apply it and love it.

This month I loved it! Over the past month of have been applying this with a kabuki brush, which I have never done previously. All I can say is wow; it really buffs the product into my skin and prevents me from over applying.

Nars Multiple in G-Spot

G-spot is a pretty golden rose colour. The deeper colour of this reminds me of the fall, but because of the colder weather we’ve been having I’ve been wearing this lots. What I love about this multiple is it works well as a lip colour too. I love products can multitask because makes things simple and who doesn’t like simple?

Clarins Instant Light Blush in Vitamin Pink

I love blush and this is one of my favorites.

*cue in magical harp music*

I would describe this blush as a bright neutral pink. This blush has the finest milled shimmer in it that captures the sun beautifully and blends in incredibly.  I would advise you to try to get a hold of these, the formula is subpar and it looks really good on lot’s of skin tones.

Essence I Heart Extreme Crazy Volume

There’s so much from this brand I want to try now, but on to this product.

I hate the name, I love this mascara. Like love love! Where do I start?

-          It’s true this product gives you crazy volume

-          I love how black this mascara is

-          This doesn’t flake all over your face

-          It’s non irritating

-          The product doesn’t dry out nor is it too watery

-        It’s probably one of the best mascara’s I’ve tried to date.

AND IT’S 4.99!!!!

What more can I say?

Balenciaga L'essence

This has been my most worn fragrance this month. It’s a very green fragrance with a warm and spicy dry down. There’s something about this that reminds me of rainy summer nights. Balenciaga captures an understated androgynous beauty which makes this scent different then many. If your into fruity floral scent’s I’m not sure if this one if for you. With that being said, if you’re walking past this one try have a whiff, I would love to hear what you think.

That pretty much sums up my favorites!

I hope everyone has a great night.

Top 3 Lip Balms

Hello, my name is Tanya and I’m a lip balm junkie.

In all fairness what girl that grew up in the Lip Smackers era isn’t a junkie today?

After going through tubes of Peach lip balm from Lip Smackers I graduated to Soft Lips.  Soft lips had that menthol feeling which naturally lead to the progression of Blistex, in specifically the Lip Medix kind.

Today I tend to reach for super moisturizing lip balms. To be honest I thought I wouldn’t be able to pick three, however when I laid out my balm collection it was pretty evident which ones I liked the most.

Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm

This is my bedside lip balm because it does a fantastic job of hydrating my lips. I do NOT find this plumping at all and the ingredients in this lip balm are not the greatest. Somehow this product still amazes me. If you’re looking for a hydrating lip balm, like the smell of roses and love the vintage packaging this might be one for you to try.

Nuxe  Reve de Miel

There’s a trick to this lip balm. Apply and little and really pat it on your lips.

My first experience with this lip balm was not pleasant. It was chunky and slid off my lips. After reading so many good reviews I decided to keep it. I’m so glad I did because in a short amount of time this has become one of my favorites. It tastes and smells like oranges, its matte (perfect for that minimal look) and it’s super hydrating.

Speaking of minimal look, is it just me or has your summer makeup look been as lazy as mine?

Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm

When all other lip product’s didn’t work this did. This winter I experienced some of the worst cracked, burning lips ever. When I brought my problem up with a pharmacist he suggested this product to me. My lips were soothed instantly and healed within a week. I’ve also used this on sun burnt lips and used this with the outcome. I suggest everyone have one of these handy

Leave a comment I would love to know what some of your favorites are!

Take a Hike

This is not something I honestly do that often.

For three very good reasons.

1.       Bug’s

2.       Why is it never a good temperature outside? It’s either -30 or 30! Yes, I am one of those whiny Canadians.

3.       I can’t think of number three

My friend called me up to tell me she had some where she wanted to hike that looked like “star wars”. So of course this peaked my interest (not that I’m even a star wars fan!) and on our hike we went.

Being a nut for everything beauty related these are some products I would recommend wearing during your hike.

Moonbeam by Demeter Fragrances

Website describes this as a chocolate vanilla fragrance. It reminds me a lot like Angel but wearable. This is not a must for hikes, but with name moonbeam combined with walks through hidden trails equals HIPPY. I’m just wearing this to channel my inner hippy, that it and that’s all!

Becca Luminous Skin Colour Ultra Sheer Foundation SPF 25+

I got this as a steal (like a 10 dollar steal ladies) at Sephora during the winter. This foundation is barley a tinted moisturizer. It sheer, very sheer, but with that being said it has a really good SPF.

Burt’s Bee’s Tinted Lip Balm –Rose

I love this stuff, it feels great on the lips. I particularly like this colour because its fuss free and has enough pigmentation to show up on my lips. Back off Maybelline baby lips!

RoC Soleil Protexion Invisible Touch Atomizer Spray SPF 45

I got this as a gift and it’s amazing. It’s light, non sticky and protects me from the sun. My favorite thing about the RoC SPF is the light vanilla scent. So much so that I remember to spray this on everyday (if you haven’t noticed I’m a very scent related person).

In conclusion I need to leave the house more often.
