Jackie's Beauty Bag Essentials

My friend/family Jackie has always had a passion for makeup. As of late she has joined the Arbonne team and has become an consultant. Before you think she has been sipping the kool aid I can assure you she is a modern women. She's not knocking on doors and won't find out where you live.
So with out further ado here are some of her makeup bag Essentials.
I am honored to have the opportunity to write a post for Miss Tarte Tanya and know I have some big shoes to fill as a guest blogger (my first ever btw).  As a regular reader of her blog, I love the tips, tricks & insider info I get from this beauty blogger and thought I’d share some of my own personal faves with you all.
I have recently become an Independent Consultant for Arbonne which is a health & wellness company from Switzerland and as a self professed ‘Sephora snob’, I was a really hard sell to switch up my line-up of NARS, Smashbox, Make-up Forever, Chanel, Dior, etc. but was blown away by these products, their coverage and pigment which I’ve now incorporated into my regular rotation but still have my tried and true go-to products that I can’t live without so here’s a sneak peek of my make-up bag:
 CC Cream & Foundation
For extra coverage, I start with Arbonne’s CC Cream in Fair and then mix two of Arbonne’s Perfecting Liquid Foundations with SPF 15 to get the perfect colour for my complexion (Honey Beige & Neutral Beige) but the CC cream is great on its own just to smooth your skin tone and give you a nice ‘glow’.  Being in my early 30s now, I am concerned about preserving my face against the signs of aging and also protecting my skin so SPF is very important to me and I use a daily moisturizer with SPF plus the foundation has SPF as well… it’s never too early to prevent the signs of aging, trust me.
 Concealer & Under Eye Concealer
I use Arbonne’s Crème Concealer in Light to cover up any blotchy or red spots while DiorSkin Nude Concealer in Beige hides those dark circles under my eyes.  I don’t like cakey products and am a big fan of ones that blend well so these two do the trick!
 Eye Shadow Primer
Too Faced Shadow Insurance is anti-crease and lasts the entire day, just as the name suggests.  I’ve had a hard time finding a shadow primer that actually lasts but this one stands up to the test.
 Loose Powder
A former Chanel loose powder user, I’ve recently switched to Arbonne’s Natural Radiance Mineral Powder Foundation with SPF 15 (again, don’t forget that skin protection) and like that it’s not matte so it gives your face a really healthy glow.
 Blush
I’ve been using NARS Orgasm for almost a decade (that makes me sound old, I swear I’m not, lol) and I can’t get enough…it’s consistently a part of my make-up ritual and gives the perfect rosy flush on my cheeks that can be used day or night.  Love it!!!
 Eye Shadow
Urban Decay’s original NAKED pallet has been a staple since it’s been in my possession…I am a huge fan of browns and taupes so this pallet had my name all over it.  I use it daily and there are so many combos you can make that you can literally use it for any occasion such as work, date night, clubbing or a wedding…it’s a one stop shop for eye shadow!
 Mascara
I am blessed with some relatively long, dark and full lashes but of course love to play them up…I am always after a mascara that not only lengthens but plumps (and I despise clumps) so I like a fuller brush.  After using DiorShow for ages, I started using Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash by fluke and have been hooked ever since!  I use 3 coats and my eyes stand out which is a must since I consider them one of my greatest features.
 Lips
I use a lip conditioner religiously and essentially buy Caudalie’s lip conditioner by the crate, I can’t live without having something on my lips at all times and it’s a good base for lipstick while the company is cruelty-free.  If I want a pop of colour, Arbonne’s Runway Rouge does the trick and doesn’t bleed which is a bonus.
 Make-up Brushes
After spending a fortune on brushes that typically shed or lose their shape, I decided to try Arbonne’s brushes (a set of 10 for $40 and a travel set of 5 for $20) since I have to try them out anyways to know whether to recommend them…well needless to say, they’re now a staple.  They are soft, non-shedding and keep their shape no matter how much product gets on them, plus I don’t feel like I have to clean them as often since they don’t harbour a ton of product on them.
And there you have it!  Wow, I never realized how much make-up I put on my face and that it’s quite the routine I have here…my secret is to use products that not only cover and last, but that protect your skin and don’t contain harmful ingredients which most to all on my list do.
I know many of you are familiar with the popular brands I’ve mentioned and may have even heard of Arbonne but for those who haven’t, I’ll give you a short run down. Arbonne is a health & wellness company from Switzerland that makes over 450 products. By mixing the purest botanical ingredients with the safest of science, Arbonne’s products give you beneficial results. Which means they do what they say they’re going to without being harmful to your body (no parabens, mineral oil, artificial colours or fragrances and no fillers or preservatives).  Did I mention that Arbonne is PETA approved and vegan certified?  That means no animal products, by-products or ingredients in any of their lines, including their make-up which is important for animal lovers like myself.  If you would like additional information on any of the products featured in this post please feel free to visit www.arbonne.com and use ID #116159195 or contact me at jackie.mazze@gmail.com.
