August Favourites

So long summer, Hello Fall.
I know this isn't what we want to hear as we are approaching the colder months, but there is something about this time of year that makes me more productive then ever. So while I welcome the fall with arms open and a pumpkin spice latte in hand here are my August favourites/ my last kick at the can with summer.
Burrberry Pale Barley Eye Shadow
Years ago this eye shadow was all the rage and naturally it was sold out everywhere. Finally (almost 3 year later) I was able to get my hands on the cult eye shadow.
On a side note my local Sephora had a ton of stock.
Where was I?
Pale Barley is a medium neutral brown with subtle golden shimmer. It's the kind of colour that seems ordinary but once applied its actually quite unique. As for the formula its pigmented, buttery, and overall a joy to work with. It's the kind of colour I could easily wear alone everyday or add it to other eye shadows for a more complex look. If you were on the fence about this colour or simply just forgot about it I can't recommend it enough.

It Cosmetics CC Cream
With tons of amazing skincare ingredients, SPF of 50 and decent amount coverage this CC cream is one of the best foundations/bases I've ever tried. I did a whole review earlier this month so you can check it out here. If your someone who wants has rushed mornings or just want something easy that you can kind of just slap on your face, this product is for you.

Moschino Bear Highlighter
Usually my favourites are well thought out, but I confess this highlighter is only here because I think the packaging is absolutely adorable. The Moschino range was both fun and affordable I really hope Sephora comes out with more collaborations like this.

Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara
I have to say this mascara seemed slightly gimmicky to me at first. However after giving this a good test I realized Noir Interdit was more then just a bendy mascara wand a funky looking brush. This mascara give a ridiculous amount of volume and the formula is more long lasting then any other mascara I've ever tried. You can see my full review here for more info!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Another cult like product I've never tried, clearly I've been living under a rock over here. I'm sure everyone knows this but Batiste is a dry shampoo. Batiste can give the hair a slightly powder-y look so my favourite way to use this is to spray generously before bed and really work it into the scalp with my fingers. The next morning I wake up with perfectly clean hair and a surprising amount of volume too. To make matters more fun Batiste offers a wide selection of scents and...yeah where the heck have I been? My favourite scent thus far is Sweetie and Violet is really nice too!

A dry shampoo for hot summer days, a long lasting mascara perfect for those summery downpours... So long summer 17 it's been fun! Now on to all those plum toned lipsticks and burgundy nails polishes, mixed with a good helping of hydrating face masks. Thanks for taking the time and reading, and I wish all of you a happy Labour Day long weekend!

July Favourites

As mentioned in my previous post this month has been the month of splash pads, Moana and ice cream cones. And with all of these summery activities going on I am here today with an exciting list of seasonal favourites to share with you. So seasonal you could really call this a "quintessential summer favourites" post.

Technicalities of post names aside. I have a lot to catch you up on so lets get started.

Sun Bum Cool Down Spray
This dry oil mist is meant to be used as an after sun treatment, which is cool for those sun worshipers out there. For me (aka the non-sun worshiper) this oil is a perfect light weight body moisturizer. In addition to hydration this oil smells super summery and the spray applicator means it takes seconds to apply. For $15.00 a bottle this moisturizer it the perfect summer body care companion.

Too Faced Peach Pallet
True fact, it takes me a long while to profess my love for an eye shadow pallet. Do I love this? Well, I've been using it daily for over a month so there is diffidently some love there. With that being said I still hold on to the fact that I wish there were more neutral mid tone shades. As of right now I find the warm peachy tones of this pallet look really pretty in the summer, so I'm taking my relationship with the Too Faced, one day at a time.
Very dramatic!

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream
When the whole internet was blowing up about this product us Canadians were jumping the boarder to get our hands on a tube of It Cosmetics CC cream. Now that I've finally got my hands on a bottle It Cosmetics has released that they are going to start to sell in Canada. I'm not mad, all I'm saying is I held out for such a long time what are the odds of this happening?
More importantly this base is amazing! I plan on doing a full review on this because it really deserves the added attention.

Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique
A few weeks ago I went to visit my friends very cool, downtown apartment. As soon as I opened the door I was hit with, no not a baby toy but this perfume. Fleur Narcotique smells chic with a combination of both fruity and floral notes. But instead of smelling like just another fragrance this some how manages to pull it off in the coolest and most refined way possible. When I asked my friend what candle she was burning she ever so cooly said "oh thats my perfume". I died and here we are only two weeks later and I am now a proud owner of an Ex Nihilo sample pack.

I can seriously talk about this fragrance all day long, but with the warm sunny weather I'm sure you all want to enjoy the great out doors as much as I do. Thank you all for reading, I have some amazing foundation review coming your way to drop on by. Cheers, and to all my Canadian's I hope your all enjoying the long weekend.

June Favourites

Every June I have a moment where I ask my self where the heck does time go and this year has been no exception. Working Mom, new job, I've also been eating a lot healthier as of late too which is crazy as I will always have a strong passion for all things deep fried. Who is this girl? There has been big changes this year, but never have I been so excited for the future... So I welcome the rest of 2017 with open arms.
Sorry I got a little carried away there, self reflections aside we are here to talk favourites and that is what I plan on doing. So let's get the show on the road people, because I have some amazing summery things to share with you!

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub
I love a good acid exfoliator, but the truth is every now and then we all need a good, gritty, get your circulation going kind of scrub. Let Acure's Brightening Facial Scrub be that scrub for you. This scrub is gentle yet provides enough grit to really deep cleanse the skin. I also really like that scrub is not stripping, in fact the formula really nourishes your freshly cleansed skin. For more information you can read my full review (here).

Hard Candy Colour Correct Cushion Wonder
This corrector is excellent, lightweight, easy to blend and neutralizes the heck out of dark circles. I would even go as far as to say this is one of the best correctors I've usedboth drugstore and department store. Up there with the ranks of Bobbi Brown, Hard Candy's corrector is amazing and should be every makeup bag!

Skin So Soft
Sure, Skin So Soft can be used as a bath soak, but if you had a clever mother with a Avon lady you would know this product also doubles as a mosquito repellent.  It does work well as a bath soak and makes a great dry oil but for me this smells like summer vacation in a bottle. The ingredients could be better in this product, however the scent keeps me reaching for time after time again.

NARS Laguna
Last but finally not least, my ultimate summer product is hands down NARS Laguna Bronzer. This bronzer gives the right kind of bronze without making me look orange. On the other hand the slight shimmer makes my face look alive but without looking like a disco ball. Over the years I've probably gone though over 10 of these and I keep on coming back for more. Better then rest, I love Laguna its the perfect touch of bronze for those who are pale like me.

L'Oreal Lash Paradise
Last but most definitely not least is L'Oreal's new Lash Paradise. This mascara is perfect, because it last's all day, gives amazing volume and awesome length. To make things better the formula is super black and very dramatic. Lash Paradise has been taking the internet by storm recently and for good reason because it's seriously that good! Review here.

Bronzer, mosquito repellent and a correct for when you've consumed to many glasses of rose... I feel like this has been a quint essential summer favourites post! Thank you all for taking the time and reading today and I wish you all a happy and safe long weekend.

May Favourites

Dear April favourites I apologize for skipping over you. Actually in all my years of blogging I have yet to skip a Monthly Favorites post and the truth be told it’s put me out of sorts. I’ve been asking myself questions like what month because in many ways favourites posts mark an end and a start to something new. So yes, this will be a May favourites post but for the take of my own fragile mental state I will throw in a couple from the previous month too. Let begin!

Neil’s Yard Frankincense Intense Serum
This serum uses the best of old world skincare treatments (like turmeric) and combines it with modern day technology. From it’s beautiful scent to its ability to really firm and tighten the skin this luxury serum is been a pleasure to use. If you’re interested you can read my full review here.

Bodycology Creamy Vanilla Shower Gel
I always see the Bodycology line of products at my local Walmart and the truth is I’ve never bought anything from this range. It wasn’t until I received an assortment of products from a PR company that it really opened up my eyes to the brand. The first thing you need to know about Bodycology is there products are not littered with parabens and they do not test on animals. The second thing is Creamy Vanilla smells delicious and the addition of grape seed extract makes the formula nourishing. Finally all Bodycology products are extremely affordable and unquestionably fun. Next time you doing a shop and you see Bodycology give it a try.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid
Lactic acid is a chemical exfoliator that is incredibly effective yet ultra-gentle. For me Lactic Acid is a miracle product because there is nothing out there that makes my skin look as glowy or as clear. While products that contain lactic acid have always been on the pricey side The Ordinary’s only costs $7.70. So gone are the days of $120.00 lactic acid treatment and here are the days of affordable options. You can see my full review here or you can skip your morning latte and buy one of these instead.

Buxom Rose Julip
I use to go through Buxom’s lip glosses like crazy, but somehow over the years I forgot about these. If you like the feeling of cooling minty lip products you will without a doubt love these. In addition there are tons of really fun shades to try and the formula lasts forever. If you’re not into the glittery shades there’s also a range of shimmer free lip creams. I can’t recommend these enough and I’m definitely going back for more.

Yardley English Lavender Eau De Toilette
If you took a mens cologne and mixed it with a lavender field it would smell like Yardley’s English Lavender and I love it! This fragrance is lightweight and extremely easy to wear… strangers have even complimented it! If you’re looking for a beautiful, affordable spring time fragrance with tons of history English Lavender is my first choice. Full review here, review also includes English Rose which is also really good.

Confession I used an recycled picture, my English Lavender proudly stands tall on my desk at work! Anyways thank you everyone for taking the time and reading this long list of favourites. I hope all of you are enjoying the warm weather and we will see each other soon because I have a quite a bit of skincare posts lined up.

March Favourites

What a month! Professionally I have been extremely busy. Not only has my 9-5 been extremely challenging but over the past couple of weeks I was offered a new job. Now, I love starting new things … Yes, I’m one of those rare breeds that loves to meet new people and feel inspired when I start new tasks. I am also excited that this job will require me to dress like an adult! Which means so long yoga pants (I’m going to miss you) and hello power lipsticks.
I’m way off topic here, but what I’m getting to is:
1. I can’t wait till next month’s favourites
2. I have been busy, so expect easy-peasy favourites
3. I’m still having a full on obsession with The Ordinary ( I believe I now own over 8 products from the range)
Let’s get started!

The Ordinary Buffet
This serum contains venom, peptides that trick the skin… basically what I’m saying is there are a lot of high tech things in this serum and you need to go visit my review now (here). The glory is in the name, because this literally is a buffet for the skin. Buffet has anti-aging properties, hydrating properties and just about everything in-between. The best part is your getting some amazing technology but for a fraction of a price. If you wanted to try something from The Ordinary I would say Buffet is an excellent place to start.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%
I love Sunday Rileys Good Genes. It makes my skin luminous, even toned and just generally glow-y. However at $135 a pop Good Genes is an expensive. I’ve said this before and I stand by it… skincare is an investment! However, should I be able to save I am all for it. The Ordinary Lactic Acid is an excellent product that has similar effects as Good Gene’s and one that I plan on reviewing sometime real soon.

Darphin Aromatic Cleansing Balm
Aromatic Cleansing blam is a thick and luxurious. It removes makeup along with SPF, but it’s super gentle at the same time. I’ve had this product for just over two weeks now and I can thoroughly say I’ve look forward to using it each and every day. A fancy cleansing balm that definitely needs a whole review of its own, expect to a whole post sometime about this sometime soon.
If you haven’t noticed I’ve been buying a lot of skincare as of late!

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique
Vanilla, rose and rum make this perfume warm and cozy. While most fragrances I try these days are loud and sickly sweet Classique is soft and slightly powder like. If you needed an everyday, life friendly, classic perfume I can’t recommend this Jean Paul Gaultier master piece enough (review here)

Acure Organics Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion in Unscented
If a body butter and body lotion had a baby it would be Acure’s Hydrating Body Lotion. This thick body cream is intensely moisturizing, yet is absorbs into the skin almost instantly. From using this on the baby to my partner reaching for the bottle, an Unscented lotion really never appealed to me before however having one on hand has proved itself super useful. Plus I really like that this doesn’t interfere with my fragrance! Like all of Acure’s product this ingredient list is filled with goodness, I can’t recommend the Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion enough!

Skincare heavy I know! But what can I say when I’m busy it all comes down to skin. With that being said I can’t wait to see what next month brings. What have you been loving as of late leave me a comment below or on my social. Like always thank for reading and I can’t wait for all the reviews I have in store for you .

February Favourites

A part of this month was spent on the beach, which the other part was spent in a parka. Basically what I'm getting to is I have one hell of a mixed bag of favourites for you. I also have a new skin care range I've been trying which I am absolutely ecstatic about. So ladies (and gents, I'm not leaving anyone out) here are my February Favourites.

MAC Patina
Patina is an excellent everyday, work friendly wash of colour. I've blogged about this in the past but I just can't get over how perfect this shade is, even alone. If you have rushed mornings and crave a pretty wash of colour MAC Patina is a makeup bag must.

Fresh Sugar Lemon Lotion
I love the Fresh Sugar Lemon scent its fresh, zingy yet some how remains classy. The Fresh lotion is amazing as it's both light weight, and yet ultra hydrating. I've used up three bottles of these over the years and I will continue to buy more.
On a side note I love using this after a long day in the sun. I find the refreshing scent works well in humid weather too.

Deciem The Ordinary
I am currently testing out some of The Ordinary products and I have been absolutely obsessed with this range. Currently, I've been using the Natural Moisturizing Factors, Buffet, Lactic Acid 10% and there Hyaluronic Acid 2% and I have been in love. I've been so smitten with these product's that each product deserves a review... which I'm going to do! However for now all you need to know is these products are inexpensive, but feature some solid skincare ingredients. They are a must!

Trust me a review to come soon!

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist
Another skincare obsession for me over the past month has been the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist. This mist is by far the best facial mist I've ever tried. To be honest I don't even know why I'm calling it a mist because its so dense in hydrating hyaluronic acid that it should be called moisturizer in a bottle. If you needed a midday refresh Pixi's Hydrating Milky mist is for you. Likewise if you have normal to oily skin this would be the perfect easy hands free moisturizer.

I love all of my favourites here, but I have to say I am super excited about the Deciem products. As mentioned I do have reviews coming soon so do check out the blog soon. Anyways I hope all of you are having an excellent weekend and thank you for stopping by.

January Favourites

I can’t believe January has come and gone! I have to say a part of me was terrified to go back to work. How would I cope with Everleigh being in daycare? When would I have time to blog? Will I have time for anything? Turns out everything has sort of fallen into place and in the mist of daycare pick-ups to busy days at work I even have some excellent beauty favourites to share with you. So ladies and gents here are my January Favourites!

Fresh Sugar Lemon Perfume
I love spicy fragrances in the fall, floral perfumes in the spring and fresh body sprays in the summer. However all year I crave something fresh, something crisp and something that smells clean... Fresh Sugar Lemon is all of these things. If you want something zingy, yet classy you need to give this a go.
If you didn’t read my review you can check it out here!

Benefit Beyond Sexy Lipstick in Lusty Rose
Lip liner, lipstick all in one, makes lips look bigger, plumper… Benefits new lipstick comes with many claims. However the only thing that you need to know about these lipsticks is the formula is fantastic. It’s creamy, hydrating long wearing and super pigmented. The packaging allows for precise application, eliminating the need for any lip liner. Totally wish Benefit would come out with a whole range of lipsticks using the same packaging and formula.
Totally forgot lusty rose at work...forgive me. You can see swatches here.

Sunday Riley Good Genes
I love this product… okay I know I love all these products but I really, really, really like Good Genes. This product totally lives up to all the rave reviews because it makes you skin look like perfection. I did an in depth review (here) but in a nutshell this exfoliating treatment makes your skin really glow. In comparison to other exfoliating products I’ve tried nothing compares to the results of Good Genes. Expensive but totally worth it this skincare item is a new must have for me.

Saje Peppermint Halo
Maybe it’s the early mornings? But I have been headachy more than normal. So instead of popping Tylenol 24-7 I have resorted to homeopathic remedies and my favourite out of the bunch is Peppermint Halo. This tingle inducing oil is meant to be applied on to the temples and for lack of better words it makes your head feel like a peppermint stick. This delightful tingle is amazing for relieving headache pain… seriously this stuff is a new office must have for me.

New perfume, new lipstick, New Year … new women! As mention above I started work this month and as hard as it is somehow everything has fallen into place. If you have any favourites please let me know in the comments section below. In addition thank you for taking the time to reading.

2016 Beauty Favourites

I can honestly say that 2016 was the best year in my life. If you are new to my blog here, I had a baby last January and she wholeheartedly made my year pretty darn epic. From her first laugh to watching her explore the world around her this little girls drive, humour and loving heart brings me to tears. Beauty wise this year has been excellent too, in addition to discovering new products I've definitely rediscovered some favourites loves too. So without further ado let's get this round up started.

Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray
I have always liked facial mists, but 2016 was the year I fell in love with them. From natural rose facial mists to drugstore finishing sprays I tried just about anything I could get my hands on. My hands down favourite out of the lot was the Clinique's Moisture Surge. In comparison to others this facial mist is more hydrating and the mist just slightly more fine. Personally I love using moisture surge in my skincare routine but you can easily use this as a primer too.
Review here.

c.Booth Clean Vanilla Bean Body Wash and Body Butter
c.Booth makes some amazing products that are not only affordable but have great ingredients too. Out of the lot of products bunch I've tired from this brand my favourite is the Clean Vanilla Bean range. This sexy, musky vanilla scent smells absolutely divine on the skin, while the quality of these products surpass department store brands. At less then $10.00 a bottle the next time your at your local Wal-Mart you must to give these a try.
Review here.

Lancome Juicy Shaker Mangos Wild
This sheer lip oil has an excellent formula, but what makes this product a standout is simple, its fun! I think we often times get too caught up in sleek packaging or revolutionary finishes and at times we forget that makeup is fun. So next time you pick up that tube of lipstick think lip oil cocktail instead.
Review here.

Eminence Firm Skin Acai Cleanser
If you suffer from dehydrated skin this cleanser is the perfect way to add an extra dose of hydration into your routine. With that being said this cleanser also adds a heavy punch of age fighting antioxidants and skin plumping hylauronic acid too. So if you want more hydrated, more youthful, more plump skin you really need to get your hands on this cleanser. Excellent ingredients with immediate results. Every time I use Frim Skin Acai Cleanser I fall more and more in love.
Review here.

Pat McGrath Lust 004 Lipstick
I've tried some excellent lipsticks over the years, but Pat McGrath's has to be one of my all time favourites. It's rich in pigment, ultra creamy and super easy to apply... it's so easy to apply that you don't even need a lip liner. I'm not sure if these are still available, but if you can find these online I can't recommend these lipsticks enough.
Review here.

Clarins Blue Orchid Oil
Oldie but a goodie! To be honest I almost forgot about this oil, it wasn't until I mentioned it to a friend that I had that "I need to get that back in my life" moment. If your looking for something nourishing enough for dry, winter skin you need this in your life. I think a lot of people would like Clarins Blue Orchid Oil because it's easy. Personally I love using this alone on clean skin, but for more nourishment it's also great in replace of a serum too.
Review here

Avene Xera Calm AD Lipid Replenishing Cream
When it came down to fighting Everleigh's eczema I tried everything... natural, medicated, drugstore, department store... literally everything! Nothing worked until I tried this Avene's Lipid Replenishing Cream. Everleigh has now eczema free for months and its truly this cream we have to thank.

Well ladies there we have all of my favourites! I hope all of you had an excellent holiday's and are throughly enjoying the start of 2017. I would also like to thank each and every one of you for supporting my blog over the past year, your comments and emails me the world to me.
Cheers!

November Favourites

There are some months that are crazy busy, but this month has gone down as the most amount of time stayed at home. Can you blame me? The days are getting colder and shorter so my reaction is to hibernate. Because of all this time spent at home (majority of it naked faced and in my pj bottoms) I struggled to think of favourites. So I dove into my collection and got to the nitty gritty of things and asked myself what are products that I use everyday don't get much love on the blog. So with my daily essentials heavily in mind here are my monthly favourites.

MAC Eyeshadow in Patina
Patina is a brown colour with a toned down gold sheen. While other sparkly browns can pop a punch Patina is subtle and somewhat sheer. Personally I love Patina, because its easy! I simply apply this to my lids, blend through the crease and my eye makeup is done. This perfect everyday shadow doesn't get much love on the blog and it's a shame because its one of my all time favourites.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
When I'm not wearing Patina I am without a doubt wearing a cream eye shadow stick. My favourite over the past few months is Bobbi's Golden Pink. Formula wise this cream eye shadow doesn't crease and applies with ease... literally you just swipe it on and pat it in with you finger.  As for the colour Golden Pink adds a flattering wash of pink (perfect for bringing out blue eyes) and the shimmery finish brings life to the eyes but at the same time doesn't make you look like a disco ball. If your mother, student, pregnant, working women or just looking for something easy I can't recommend this enough.

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream
To be honest I haven't touched this in months. However with the weather getting colder and my skin getting drier it didn't take long before this became one of my favourites again. From the emollient texture to the long list of amazing ingredients this cream is amazing... hell I even like the vanilla citrusy scent too. If your someone who is looking for an extra dose of moisture this winter this cream is one of my all time favourites. I have a whole review here!

Acure Coconut Argan  Oil
I love oils and this drugstore find is quickly becoming one of my all time favourites. Like so many this oil can be used on hair, face, body, cuticles or anywhere you have dry skin. However my unlike others this oil dries almost instantly. That means you can slap this on quickly before getting dressed without the worrying about getting it on your clothes. I also really like the coconut scent it adds a nice tropical touch to my non-tropical everyday life.

An affordable multi-tasking oil, check! Moisturizer, check! Easy eye products, double check! This month has to be one favourites, favourites! Come to think about it I would slot these products into the 'must have category'. Anyways ladies (and gentleman) I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did. I would love to hear what some of your favourites are in the comment section below.

October Favourites

From Thanksgiving celebrations to my love of all things pumpkin October is my favourite month out of the whole year and I am sincerely sad to see it go. On a completely unrelated do any of you Canadians feel like now that October is gone you have to brace yourself for winter? All of a sudden I'm craving warm socks, hearty soups and ultra hydrating skincare... Winter is coming, so expect some seasonal posts soon. Before I get ahead of myself here, we are here to talk about favourites so lets get started!

Guerlain Super Lips
I LOVE this lip balm! It's the kind of balm you put on before bed and you can still feel it the next morning. With tons of amazing ingredients and delicious citrus scent this lip balm has been following me around the house this month. In fact its in my pocket as I type!

ESQIDO Companion Eyelash Glue
I have to confess wearing lashes isn't a regular day occurrence to me. I also have to confess because I don't wear lashes often the application process intimidates me. So while getting ready for a friends wedding earlier this month I decided to try some Esqido goodies I got at a recent beauty event. The lashes were beautiful, but the real winner for me was the lash glue. With its paint brush applicator it made application a dream. In addition after 12+ hours of wearing false lashes they didn't budge, move or start to come of in the slightest. At $10.00 a pop this latex free lash glue is the best I've ever tried... move over duo glue!

Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick in Magenta
Another product I discovered at the recent wedding I went to was this lipstick. The formula itself is long wearing and moisturizing. However what made fall in love with this product is the intensely pigmented berry toned colour. I got this as a 100 point reward at Sephora so keep your eyes peeled on your next visit. On another note... I am seriously having a full fledged moment with berry toned lips.

NARS Sin
I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes, sweater weather and cozy scarves, but for me fall is all about the berry toned lip. The perfect compliment to this autumn colour is NARS's Sin. Like all NARS blushes this is pigment, long wearing and easy to blend. Better then there famous Orgasm blush, Sin is one of my all time favourites.

Acure The Magical Wonderfluff
This overnight hydrating mask is downright amazing! Filled with amazing ingredients, effective and all at an affordable price have me loving this product. Plus I like that you can just quickly slap this on before bed and not worry about it... I can rave all day about this. Come to think about it I really need to review this product soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Hydrating masks, berry toned blush and lipstick... this is become the quintessential fall beauty post. Also wanted to say I hope you all have a happy and safe halloween tonight. Until next time ladies!
