Sweet Treats!

Yes, I love my spicy dark scents but I have a huge soft spot for sweeter sugary scents.
While doing my lunchtime beauty routine I had a moment where I literally said to myself “I smell soooo good!” I maybe even said this out loud. But I work with all men so I honestly think they don’t listen to me half the time anyway.
So here are some of my top sweet picks so that you can have that out loud yummy moment too!

LipLicious Coconut Vanilla Lip Gloss
This stuff tastes amazing and smells like heaven. This has a slight sparkle to it making it easy to wear alone or with a lipstick. Although I consider myself more of a lipstick kind of gal Bath and Body works Lip Glosses are just way too fun to say no too!
True fact I have no idea how long this wears because I lick it off my lips so quickly.

Laura Mercier Crème Brulee Hand Cream
As mentioned this is from a Laura Mercier hand cream collection, which has been down right a pleasure to use. Crème Brulee smells scrumptious! It smells so good that you will be tempted to try some. Please don’t, because I did and I can tell you this does not taste like Crème Brulee. I know I said in the past I would not purchase this, but I think now I just might!

La Vanilla Pure Vanilla
Roll On Perfume
This smells like musky vanilla goodness! The musk adds a bit of depth to the sugary fragrance and dare I say? It makes it a bit more grown up! If you’re on the market for a vanilla perfume but I highly recommend you give this a go!

The combination of these three… mouth watering amazing.
I totally smell like a sugary vanilla coconut cookie right now, so I am off to go eat some real cookies!
Please feel free to leave a comment!
Hope all of you are having an amazing week!

Sunday Makeup Bag Edit

So today I took the time and organized my makeup bag.
My old makeup bag was looking a little crazy!
Which basically means it boasted over 7 lipsticks, 2 body creams, candy wrappers, numerous bobby pins and just random things.
So I needed a little update to say the least.
First I changed to a much smaller makeup bag. This bag is nothing fancy but it’s much smaller size than my pervious makeup bag, which I’m thinking will help me keep minimal items with me.

Starting with the items on the left!
Nars Albatross Lip Gloss
This is a lovely sheer golden gloss which is very pretty worn alone on the lips but magical if paired with a red lipstick. I’ve tried some NARS glosses that have a weird taste and smell, I’m happy to report this one does not.

Guerlian Shine Automatique in Rose Pompom
I’m sorry I mention this once a week but it’s because I’ve been wearing the heck out of this product. With over half of the bullet gone it’s easily become one of my favorite lipstick colors ever.

Chanel Extract De Gloss in Merveille
This is like a gloss and lipstick all in one! This reddish plum has the most amazing shimmer in and looks absolutely stunning on the lips. The packaging, scent and color it’s all very luxurious!

Laura Mercier Crème Brule Hand Cream
Last year I got a gift set of four of these. I have loved each and every one of them but unfortunately Crème Brule is my last one. The formula of these is top notch and the scents are out of this world amazing.

Chanel Makeup Remover Sample
I keep this around for those just makeup emergencies and the small little bottle doesn’t take up much room in my makeup bag either.

La Vanilla Pure Vanilla Perfume
Lovely sweet scent and I adore the roll on applicator makes it perfect for travel.

La Vanilla Pure Vanilla Mini Deodorant
Smells absolutely amazing I keep this with me for just incase emergencies.

Well that concludes my fall makeup edit!
Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite fall items are or how you keep your makeup bag organized.

Sample Overload Part 2

If you read my original post I have been overwhelmed by the abundance of samples I own. So I made a little promise to myself to start using them.

With the last load gone, I was excited to get this weeks samples started.

Aderma Exomega Emollient Cream
The Exomega range form Aderma is there very dry eczema prone range. The cream in question can be used on both face and body.
What are my overall thoughts?
Well this doesn’t surpass my Avene cold cream but it’s up there. This cream is ultra moistening which gives you the first impression that this is going to leave an oily residue. It doesn’t! This cream finishes by leaving your body really soft and smooth.
On the face the same sort of effect applies. This cream didn’t aggravate my sensitivities nor did it break me out. If you are someone who suffers from eczema prone skin you might want to check this 2 in 1 product out. This product contains tons of great ingredients, it’s also unscented and safe to use on babies.
I know this whole series was on using up beauty items but I’m going to save this one for traveling during the winter season.

Biotherm Aqua Source 24h hydration
Skincare is just one of those things that may work for some but doesn’t work for others. With that being said I found this meh, I love the smell of this but in all honesty it irritated my skin. This has both alcohol and perfume listed in the ingredients list so if you have sensitive skin you might want to sear away.

Philosophy Purity Gel
I love the original philosophy purity so this had high expectations to say the least. For my skin type I like the hydrating effect of the original formula. If you like that squeaky clean feel or have oily skin I would highly recommend you try this.
Random fact: This makes a crazy amount of bubbles!
In the meantime I am enjoying my sample and the overload of bubbles but will always prefer the original formula.

Ojon Rare Blend Oil
This looked cool, almost like one of those fancy shooters you would see going to a swanky hotel cocktail bar. I really like this oil. I noticed my hair definitely looks more smooth and shiny, but without that greasy weirdness. So would I repurchase? Maybe? I’m on the fence on this one! One part of me says “Yes smooth shiny” hair and the other says “Tanya $42.00 for an oil?” So I simply just don’t know yet!

Aveda Curl Controller
If you love the smell of the Aveda stores your going to love the smell of this. Yes it does a great job at smoothing over my waves as suggested. For me personally I like more of a curl activator product, but overall I’ve liked using this. Would I purchase this probably not; I think this product would work with someone with very curly hair.

A huge highlight from this post has been Aderma Exomega Emollient Cream. I can really see myself getting good use of this during the upcoming cooler seasons. Well that concludes my sample overload part 2. Keep checking out my blog for more of these sorts of posts!

Thanks for reading and hope you all are having an amazing week!

And on a side note how cute are these Alice and Olivia tumblers at starbucks?

My Two Cents On Twilight Woods for Men

After using shower gels up that were more along the lines of lemon coconut or vanilla cupcake, it was time to let him have the next pick.
Right ladies??
Little did I know when picking up Twilight Woods for men it would soon become one of my favorites Bath and Body Fragrances.
This scent is a good balance between woodsy notes and musky notes. It smells masculine but without that cheap sporty aerosol body spray smell. This also lasts forever on my skin and pared with sweeter fragrance’s it’s heavenly.
Bath and Body Works soaps lather well and don’t dry out my skin. So if you’re in a Bath and Body Works and looking for a new shower gel you might want to check this one out.

Yes, kind of a random!
But thought I would share with you because I have literally been loving this.
So I dare more of you to venture to the men's side of bath and body.

Fall Nail Polish Selection!

Nars Galion
This deep grey with blue undertones was a product I got earlier this summer and it’s one of those colors I knew I would get good use of this fall. This was my first NARS nail polish purchase and I am happy to report that the formula is topnotch and the wear time is incredible.

YSL Kaki Arty
This is also a new brand of polish I have tried recently. This has a wider brush so application with this is a breeze. The color is a beautiful kaki grey green, which is like nothing in my collection. This is one of those colors, which looks weird in the bottle but once applied looks beautiful.

Chanel Vertigo
Yes, another grey shade.
I should have really called this post “50 shades of grey”!
Chanel Vertigo is a purple grey that has subtle red shimmer. This was a Chanel launch last fall and has been a favorite of mine over the past year. I find Chanel polishes very in wear time. Vertigo however magically lasts on my hands for a week with out chipping.

Essie Chinchilly
Yup… another grey.
I am sorry if I am boring you at this point because this was not planned!
Marino Cool is a medium purple grey. I would say this shade is perfect for rainy fall days and it’s a color I get good use of in the spring too! Essie colors can sometimes be a bit dodgy but I can honestly say Chinchilly applies with ease.

Finally my only non-grey shade!
Debroah Lippmann Bitches Brew
I love black reds polishes for the fall and when I saw the name “Bitches Brew” I giggled and had to have it! This is a great color with easy application.

Random fact: I find metallic shades sometimes chip on my nails, which is why I don’t wear them too often.
With that being said this shade has great wear time and is extremely opaque even in only one coat. For me this color just screams fall!

Well that’s all my nail favorites! Please leave a comment because I would love to hear what are some of your favorites too!

Sniffles on Sunday

It seems like cold/flu time has come early this year, because literally everyone has been getting ill. So went I woke up this morning with the sniffles I was not surprised to say the least. I know beauty products can’t cure colds but I’m actually feeling much better. So I thought I would show you my stash of products that make me feel better.

Philosophy’s Eye’s Wide Open Eye Gel
If you wake up hung over, tired or sick this is a great emergency product to have. This gel feels refreshing once applied and doesn’t leave a greasy residue like other gel eye creams I tried. Also the caffeine in this product helps de puff tired eyes making you instantly look more awake. It’s a perfect product to keep around for morning makeup emergencies.

Pocket Bac’s
I love these mini antibacterial gels and always leave one in my purse. When I’m sick I always like to have one close by, especially when you’re coughing into your hands and sneezing. YUCK. I just opening Montana Morning Air and I can’t tell you how it smells because to be honest my nose it plugged.

Clinique Airbrush Concealer
I just love this lightweight concealer, because it’s both lightweight and illuminating. There is nothing worse then when you feel sick and then you go look in the mirror and you look sick too. This might be unnecessary to some but even though I’m not going anywhere it makes me happy.

Avene Cold Cream Lip Blam
This is one of my favorite lip balms. It’s ultra moisturizing which is perfect for days where you feeling a bit blah. Is it just me or to chapped lips and colds go together?

Some non-beauty cold time essentials
  •       Cough candy
  •        Fuzzy blanket
  •        Tea
  •        A book, right now I’m reading one on vintage cakes. The whole book is filled with beautiful pictures and scrumptious recipes.
  •        Tylenol cold and sinus!!!

Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what some of your cold beauty essentials or if you even have cold time beauty essentials?
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

October Favorites

I love the month of October and I’m not going to lie I’m kind of bummed out to see it go. Without getting to mushy these are my monthly favorites.

Make Up Forever HD Primer
After loving my sample Clarins Beauty Flash Balm I had a moment where I thought to myself “why don’t I use primers anymore?” With that in mind I shopped my collection only to find Make Up Forever HD primer. I don’t know why I stopped using this? I love that this primer feels moisturizing and makes makeup application effortlessly. I highly recommend this to people with dryer skin because it doesn’t emphasis dry areas like other primers.

Guerlain Shine Automatique in 264 Rose Ponpom
I knew I was going to get good wear out of this color this fall. I love this plumy toned lipstick has beautiful shimmer but doesn’t feel gritty. This has been a go to lipstick for me this fall and I’m not going to lie I’ve been wearing this almost everyday.

Bourjois Kajal Liner
When I first swatched this I was skeptical it seemed dry and to lack pigment. Well I’m happy to report that I have been wearing this day ever since! First off the packaging is brilliant! Unlike any eyeliner I’ve ever tried this comes in a portably small tube similar to a lipstick. The liner itself actually doesn’t lack pigment and the drier formula actually helps the longevity of this. This product exceeded my expectations and I can’t recommend it enough.
L’Occitane Hand Cream
This is such a cult favorite and for good reason. Not only is it super moisturizing but it’s also fast absorbing. I’ve put this to good use over the past couple of months and I’m in desperate need for a new one.

Last but definitely not least…
Clarins Blue Orchid Oil
I literally talk about this in every post I’ve done lately so it should be no surprise that this made it’s way to my favorites list this month. Basically I use this oil underneath my moisturizer and it makes my dry sensitive skin look luminous and moisturized even during the dry winter months.

Well that is all of my monthly favorites.
I just wanted to send a huge thank you to all my readers and followers. I’ve been blogging for three months and every comment, friend and page view still blows my mind.
So thank you everyone!
Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what your monthly favorites are.
